30 Jan Smet fills up on Stralis with Mecar
Consolidation of the partnership between Mecar and the Salerno based logistics giant with an order ot 120 Euro 6 Stralis trucks for 2015.
A great result for Iveco. Stralis Euro 6 continues to impress and this contract proves it: over 2015 Mecar will deliver 120 trucks to Smet, Salerno. The first delivery (20+20) was completed over February and March.
“2015 has started with a bang for Mecar and its historic partners“, affirms Gianandrea Ferrajoli, Managing Director of Mecar. Active since 1952, Mecar, the “Great Southern Dealer“, has always been a pioneer in the industrial vehicle sector of Southern Italy and an important partner for Iveco. “our objective – continues Ferrajoli – is to position oirselves on the market as a reference in corporate transport solutions, which is our new claim from 2015. This order represents an important step forwards in our journey together with Smet in that it consolidates our strategy of following our clients on the European market where vehicle sales is only one of the many services offered.“
A European player, Smet has chosen to partner itself with single brand on an international scale: a true “marriage” between partners, chosen for the trust that the integrated logistics colossus has in the quality of the products and services supplied and for the relationship with the management of the company. “This agreement – explains Domenico de Rosa, General Director of Smet – further consolidates a relationship which has been getting ever stronger over the years“. The Smet fleet, which before this agreement was made up almost entirely of Iveco vehicles: over 600 trucks for routes covering Portugal, Spain, Italy, Romania and Belgium. With the new 2015 supply the entire European fleet of Smet will be Iveco.
“Iveco – continues Domenico De Rosa – supports us through Mecar across all of the markets in which we are present. The combination of a competitive product alongside dynamic management is exactly what Smet needs in a partner. We place the emphasis on efficacy and efficiency, aspects which our partners have shown themselves to have significant strength in“.
“Mecar Spa – confirms Gianandrea Ferrajoli – is a multiservice player and point of reference for the transport and logistics operators of 3 regions, and with its network of circa 20 service points the business is ready to continue providing high value added services over an area extending more than 500 km“. Symbol of high performance in the South and of solid entrepreneurial ability the F. Ferrajoli & C group has based its success on professionalism and passion, qualities which are evidently highly prized by large clients such as Smet.
